Belisa
Mollergate 8
Oslo
Belisa is almost next door to Husfliden. So when you see the Husfliden sign
just walk about 1/2 block on the same side of the street and you
will come to Belisa. The yarn department is on the second floor
of this building. The yarn area is quite large and has a huge
variety of yarns. Submitter found Dale "Heilo" and their store
brand "Belisa", which appears to be the same as Heilo, as well as lots
of pattern books.

Sells Norwegian crafts from all over the country. It also is the
place to buy patterns and materials for their regional costumes
and YARN. Yarns by Rauma and Rowan; submitter reports that one
whole wall had nothing but the different colors of this yarn --
about 100 shades. Patterns in books and leaflets for traditional
Norwegian mittens and socks.
Rauma Ullvarefabrikk A/S
Kolstadgata 1
6310 Veblungsnes
Notes from Rebecca Thompson, thom0056@maroon.tc.umn.edu:
Rauma designs are available all over Norway, but unlike other Norwegian
yarn companies (Sandnes, Peer Gynt, Dale) they haven't been in any
American yarn stores I've seen. I think that's because its designs are
very traditional and nationalistic--if you want to knit a sweater fine
enough to wear with the ultimate formal garment in Norway, your bunad
(the Norwegian folk costume), you turn to Rauma. And, of course, the
pattern is in Norwegian. I think an experienced knitter, though, could
use the charts to good effect without having to translate the
directions.
