This is where the Lopi yarn is produced. The best prices and selection. It is 15 km from Reykjavík. From Reykjavík by bus, take any city bus going to Artun bus station. From there take bus 170 (marked Mosfellsbae). Ask bus driver to drop you near Alafoss. It was a nice trip out there. The store keepers were very friendly and helpful. Not open Sun.

Another sweater factory shop with Norwegian and Icelandic sweaters. Carried Lopi yarn and patterns. Very nice store keeper - fed submitter biscuits and juice.

Best prices in Reykjavik. Most ready made kits (yarn with pattern). Yarn is in a small room at the farthest corner with many locals crowded in. Primarily sold sweaters. Had enough variation to inspire or overwhelm anyone.

Icelandic wool, mostly, but also cottons and linens from Norway. They have all sorts of Icelandic designs, not only knit, but also the traditional Icelandic needlepoint. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
