- yarn: sportweight, 2 colors, I used navy and white.
- gauge: 5 1/2 sts=1"
- needles: I used #2 dpn's. (Most people would probably use a bigger needle
size;
I knit loosely.)
CO 48 sts.
Work in the round. K2 P2 rib for 2".
K1 rnd.
Add contrast color.
Begin working chart. I used hearts. You can choose any Fair Isle pattern
that fits.
When hearts are finished, K 1 row plain in darker color.
Decrease to shape top of hat:
Next rnd in dark: K2, K2 tog.
K 1 rnd in light.
K1 K2 tog for one rnd in light.
K 1 rnd in dark.
K 2 tog for one rnd in dark.
Draw remaining sts tog. Leave a long tail of yarn.
Use tail to make a twisted cord. Make a tassel and attatch to cord.
Give to Kirsten!
