I personally think that it is very cute. It takes less than 1 skein of yarn and is a great way to use the left over yarn after you finish the baby blanket. Yarn: Jiffy from Lion Pride Gauge: 3.5 stitches per inch I used US size 6 double pointed needles to get this guage. Cast on 60 stitches join to form a circle. Mark your starting point Knit 8 rows to make the rolled brim Knit 3 rows of K1P1 ribbing to stop the brim from rolling. You may wish to change needles to double points 2 sizes smaller for a nice tight ribbing. Knit 3 inches to make the hat. Place a marker every 10 stitches on the last row. **Knitting Description of the last rows** K2tog before each marker and SSK after each marker. Repeat this on each row until you have 12 stitches left. Next row: K2tog until the end. You will have 6 stitches on the needles. I'm not an experienced patter writter so bear with me. Row 1: Slip marker * SSK, K6 K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row. Row 2: *SSK, K4, K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row Row 3: *SSK, K2, K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row Row 4: *SSK, K2tog* Repeat to end of row Row 5: K2tog until end of row you should have 6 stitches on the needles. Finishing directions: Cut a long tail thread a yarn needle and run it through the 6 loops, pull tight and weave the end on the inside of the hat. Make a Pom Pom for the top of the hat and attach.
