Separate onto three needles (18-18-20). Break off 1 strand of yarn. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1 for 4". Change to plain knitting and work even for 1". Start thumb as follows: P 1, inc. in next st., K 2, inc. in next st.,P 1, K to end of round. K 2 rounds even, keeping the P 1 sts. uniform. Round 4: P 1, inc. in next st., K 4, inc. in next st., P 1, K to end of round. K 2 rounds even, keeping the P 1 sts., uniform. Continue to inc. every 3rd round in sts. inside of P 1 sts. until there are 18 sts between the 2 P sts. Next round: K 1, slip next 18 sts. onto holder or string, cast on 4 sts., K around. K even for 1 1/2". (56 sts.) Now, starting with needle on line with thumb, K 8, slip next 7 sts. onto a small pin, slip next 6 sts. onto small pin, slip next 14 sts. onto pin, and the next 6 and 7 sts. respectively, onto small pins. Pick up yarn and cast on 4 sts. on first needle. Pick up remaining 8 sts. With another needle, arrange sts. onto 3 needles and work in ribbig of K 1, P 1, for 1". Bind off loosely. 3rd Finger: Pick up and K next 7 sts. on pin, cast on 4 sts, pick up and K corresponding 7 sts and pick up 4 sts from inside of finger (22 sts.) Work in ribbin of K 1, P 1 for 1". Bind off loosely. 4th Finger: Pick up and K next 6 sts, cast on 4 sts, pick up and K corresponding 6 sts. and pick up 4 sts. from inside finger. Work same as 3rd finger. Little finger: Pick up and K remaining sts., pick up 4 sts. inside (18 sts.) Work same as 3rd finger. Thumb: Pick up 18 sts. on string and the 4 sts. which were cast on. Work even in K 1, P 1 ribbing for 1". Bind off loosely. LEFT GLOVE: Starting incs. for thumb, work around and within 6 sts. fromend of 3rd needle, P 1, inc. in next st., K 2, inc. in next st., P 1.
