I found the little scrap of paper I had written the directions on and thought I would share:- Materials:- 4 ounce skein Lopi bulky. Needles size 8 British or Canadian 4 mm dp's Guage - did not work one out at that time...they felted beautifully over the years and are quick to knit. Cast on 36 stitches. Work 20 rows in knit two purl two ribbing. Increase to 40 stitches. Knit 4 ounds. Knit 4 - place marker, increase in next 2 stitches -= place marker. Knit even until there are 14 stitches between markers. Place these on holders. Cast on 2 stitches. Knit until mitten measures 8.5 inches from cast on. Decrease - Knit 2 tog - knit 8. Knit even. Knit 2 tog - knit 7 Knit. Repeat above until 12 stitches remain. Knit 2 tog . Pull though and leave a tail for sewing in end. Thumb:- Pick up 14 stitches plus 3 at base of thum. Knit 10 rounds. Knit 2 together.
