      Title: Knit feather and fan afghan

      8 oz Yarn
      1 sm Size 8 knitting needles

  KNIT FEATHER AND FAN AFGHAN

  Gauge:  each 2 sections equals 7" wide, each 4 stripe will measure 4" deep.

  Yarn required:  3 skeins each of 4 colors

  Needle required:  Size 11" long  (I use a round needle - much easier for
  me)

  With 11" needles and Color A, cast on 188 stitches

  Border - Knit 4 rows.  Change to Color B.

  Patttern Row 1 - Knit 4; Knit 2 together twice, *(yarn over, knit 1) 4
  times, knit 2 together 4 times, repeat from the * across, ending with (yarn
  over, knit 1) 4 times, knit 2 together twice, knit 4.

  Rows 2 & 4 - Knit 4, purl across to the last 4, knit 4

  Row 3 - Knit

  Change to Color C.  Repeat these 4 rows for the pattern.

  Striping pattern:  4 rows of A, 4 rows of B, 4 rows of C, 4 rows of D.

  Work even in striping pattern until 18 stripes of each color have been
  completed (working the last 3 Color D rows in all knit for the border).

  Bind off.
