Usenet newsgroups for knitters
Usenet newsgroups are areas for public discussion of just about any
topic you can think of. All of the notes, or articles, posted
to them, are accessible with a news reading program. Netscape, Internet
Explorer, and lynx all can read newsgroups. The yarn-related
newsgroups listed here are all good places to ask questions; you're
much more likely to get help if you make sure to post in the appropriate
one.
- The Usenet newsgroup
rec.crafts.textiles.yarn
is devoted to discussions of spinning, knitting, weaving, tatting,
dyeing, rug-making, crochet, and anything else people do to make or
use yarn.
- rec.crafts.textiles.needlework is for cross-stitchers, embroiderers, and people who do related activities.
-
rec.crafts.textiles.marketplace is for people who are interested
in buying or selling textile-related equipment, such as yarn, spinning
wheels, sewing machines, and so forth.
