Date: Thu, 17 Aug 1995 20:21:17 -0500 From: SteveHoust@aol.com To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: KNIT-TECH:Organizing Colors for Intarsia Since I almost always knit with a minimum of 20 colors (and some times as many as 10 times that number), I have had to struggle with ways of organizing the colors. Here is a technique that I have found very helpful when knitting with between 10 and 40 or so colors (especially when following a chart with specified colors): Materials needed: One (or more) Rubbermaid-type storage box(es), crafter's popsicle sticks (the notched type), yarn. Arrange the yarns by color according to the chart (A,B,1,2, etc.), placing them in the storage box(es) in order. Write the color letter (or number) on one end of the popsicle sticks. Insert the bottom of the appropriate stick in the corresponding yarn. You will then have all of the yarns labeled and arranged in order. Let me know if any of this needs clarification.
